3D-PDF batchtranslation

Thanks to the widely used and accepted Adobe Reader, 3D-PDF is the ideal file format, to give access to 3D CAD data even outside of PLM processes. Kisters Automation Server (KAS) helps to generate 3D-PDF files in batch mode.

We all use PDF on a daily basis so we all have Adobe Reader installed and are used to it. PDF is a universal container for text, graphics and much more incl. 3D CAD data. Kisters Automation Server (KAS) imports native file formats like i.e Catia V5, Catia V6, NX, CreoElements/Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks, Inventor, SolidEdge, Parasolid and neutral file formats like STEP, VRML and JT. Kisters Automation Server allows to translate all these file formats into 3D-PDF (and others). Preview images are created, can be stored as separate files and can also be inserted into the PDF as overlay on top of the 3D model. KAS allows to create pure 3D-PDF files as well as template based ones, which define the page layout of the PDF. There are corresponding XML files, which can be enriched by metadata of the leading system and production data like date, user and file name. Pretty unique to Kisters Automation Server is the possibility to dynamically generate product structures, consisting of individual 3D-PDF files.  This significantly helps dealing with different views on structures, product variants and configurations.

Especially external and internal users with low requirements for 3D-viewing are the typical Adobe Reader users, which will use the 3D-PDF data on a daily basis, generated by Kisters Automation Server.
